卟啉衍生物已被广泛应用于催化领域。金属卟啉为细胞色素P-450的模拟物,可实现高选择性和低催化剂负载;在多种化学反应中,可进行C-H氧化功能化、环氧化、硫化物转化为亚砜氧化,而无需使用易爆的有机过氧酸、强无机酸或有毒的金属羰基配合物。游离碱卟啉也可用于光氧化还原催化。
